Before making the career change to marketing, I was a teacher. I received my bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and continued to obtain my Endorsement in Special Education.

For three years, I taught a group of amazing kiddos at Camas Prairie Elementary School in a program called an Independent Learning Center. My job was to see the potential in each child, assess their current abilities, set goals to help them move forward, develop a program to help each one reach those individualized goals, and create data points to show conclusive evidence that the benchmarks were being met. All this while also managing a team of paraeducators, collaborating with support services, helping the students integrate with general education students, and supporting their emotional and social needs.

​In 2012, I was approached by Experience Church.tv to develop a new program to support homeschoolers. I took the individualized academic program skills I had honed and applied them to a new hybrid program providing tutoring services for students grades 2-10 within a classroom setting 3 days per week for 4 hours per day.

​

At the same time, I began working overseas and assisted in the development of a NGO in Nepal, Hearts for Nepal. This NGO preventatively rescues girls from sex trafficking. Our program provides housing, education, and a new life for girls that have been marked as destitute outcasts in their country.
